Planet Nexus is a venture into a new era of forum networking that follows the social networking model of user interaction. We have combined, compiled and created the very best social networking tools to allow administrators to advertise their message boards, while connecting people all over the world to each other. We call this nexworking. Managing a message board is hard enough--let us handle the rest. (Read More...) Planet Nexus is huge! How do I navigate the wilderness?
You're right - the Planet is large and home to many interesting "sites" and sounds. To aid you with your exploration we have created some very interesting tools that every adventurer will find useful! The first tool is our Planet Map, positioned as the home page to our World. You can use this visual map to access just about any part of Planet Nexus. It's fun and interactive! Take it for a spin! We also have a textual site-map for you to browse. Less graphic-intensive, but still dynamic. It is linked from the navigation marker at the top of every page, and again as a text link below the board, on the index page. Of course, if these options don't suit your adventuring needs you may always use the ever-simple (but always accessible) submenu located right under the logo. We're very excited to offer a new form of navigation to our arsenal, called the "Adoption Option". New members who post in our Landing Pad forum can choose to be adopted by one of the knowledgeable Planet Nexus leaders. During a 2-week period, adopted members may ask their leader any questions they'd like about the Planet. All baby birds need to be pushed from the nest before they can learn to fly... when your two weeks is up be prepared to spread your wings over the gorgeous purple skies of the Planet! Who are the leaders of Planet Nexus?
Our Planet requires a team of dedicated people to keep it strong, beautiful and well kept. We have two separate teams. Each team is responsible for a part of the Planet. The Nexus Team consists of our admins, Cory, Helena and Ryan who together oversee the NexusTree project. Every big decision that is made goes directly through these brave crusaders. The Nexus Team also includes our developers: Mike is the official board 'Coda', the Nexus systems creator and Manager. He is joined by slayer766 who has overseen and coded the latest Nexus updates. Talented debugger and problem-solver, Reid, is our latest addition to the development team. Clay and Nicolas help manage our community and the Nexus functions. To learn more about us we encourage you to view our Leaders Page. The second part of our formidable force is the Planet Team. The Planet Team is our interface with the Planet Nexus and NexusTree community and gives support and encouragement to those visiting Planet Nexus. The Planet Team are not considered staff, but as goodwill ambassadors to the community. How do I become a staff member?
It's great that you wish to contribute! Staff members are picked far and few between, but they are always chosen from those who are a constant positive presence in the community. There will be opportunities that arise to help out. If you care about Planet Nexus and the people that come here it will be apparent to us. We ask that you do not contact our staff members to ask for a position on our team. It just doesn't happen that way here. How can I contribute?
Regular contributions of thoughtful and interesting content is always beneficial to the growth of conversations and community. If you have experience in forum management, you may elect to write some articles that pass on the benefits of your experience and observations. Some of these may find their way into our Forum Mentoring section, a more formal collection of management wisdom. Don't have the time to contribute content, but still wish to show your appreciation we would love any form of donation you can offer. Donations to Planet Nexus are used for maintenance and improvement of the site. Thank you for supporting our ongoing efforts to provide an excellent service and web environment. Our donation button is located here. We also have an abundance of advertising graphics, located here. I would like to request a user name change. Can I do this?
Absolutely. Users who are in good standing may request a name change once every six months. There are no special requirements to make a request. Simply visit the Name Change page and submit your new name with the available form. The reason why we impose a time limit is simply to keep our heads on straight. It becomes complicated to learn you by name if it's changing constantly. We want to become familiar with our members! We enjoy your membership, but also your company. Wow, I really like the ZetaBoards theme used on Planet Nexus. Can I use it too?
Our custom themes, Green Vellum and Dark Vellum was designed by Helena, and coded by Morgan, Nicolas and Cory and is exclusive to Planet Nexus. You may not use our theme or any of our graphics on any message board. There are many resources on the web that will help you create a style for your board.
