on an obscure beach on Planet Nexus....

NexusBar is a third party modification, a feature that is not default to any message board software. When using a third party code or “mod” on your message board, you must be made aware of the possible security risks associated with signing up or making use of the product. Planet Nexus is owned and operated by experienced message board owners, Zathyus Networks staff members, and highly intuitive coding developers. We make it our business to ensure that your online data is safe and protected. In order to do this effectively we will take any opportunity available to thoroughly explain the safety of Planet Nexus, it's tools or related projects. Please review the following.

Safe, Secure, Solid – Picking a good password

NexusBar and NexusTree will prompt users to enter a unique password the first time that they are used. By entering a password into the system you are ensuring that nobody else can post comments or chat under your user name. In other words, your online identity on Planet Nexus (and your board) is safely and securely reserved. Password information is sent to our database and is encrypted. This encryption is a one-way-only process – meaning that once you enter your password nobody else will be able to view it from your end or ours. The password system is meant to be completely unobtrusive to the functioning of any Planet Nexus tools. In order for this system to work effectively you must select a secure password. A secure password contains:

  • uppercase and lowercase letters
  • a number
  • punctuation or symbols
  • at least 8 characters
It is your responsibility to select a strong password and to keep it safe. Planet Nexus does not have a password recovery system. Choose a password that is easy to commit to memory, but strong and secure. For example, “1_Awesome_Day!” is extremely easy to remember and meets all the requirements above. If you forget your password you will need to send an e-mail to support@planetnexus.net. You must include a board link to where your password will not work, and your user name. After we confirm that you have lost your password we can reset your account in the database. You will then be required to enter a new password the next time you try to use any of our features.

Please note that Planet Nexus will never ask you for your password under any circumstances. If someone claiming to be a staff member from our board asks you for your information, you should decline them immediately. If you feel threatened by any individual while using NexChat you may send an e-mail to security@planetnexus.net with your inquiry or problem. Alternatively, you may post for help in our member support forum.

System Abuse and Complaints

It is our goal to provide the most wonderful experience possible. Users who misuse any part of our system (spam, harassassment, terms of service violations, etc.) will have their access to our system terminiated. In some circumstances we will involve the law and the proper authorities as well. Please forward any complaints of abuse to support@planetnexus.net. Do not be alarmed if you do not receive an e-mail response from us. We will only respond to you if we require additional information to aid in our investigation. Thank you for your cooperation.
