on an obscure beach on Planet Nexus....

Our reputation system allows members of Nexus subscriber boards to register Likes and Dislikes in real time on each other's posts. The information is deposited
  • in the post itself
  • in the members' profile as a running total
  • on a Leaderboard in the stats section of your board index.

Your stats are safely recorded in our system database and do not reset periodically as some other systems do.

The system comes with a complete default setup, but here is the fun part-- You can customize your board's Reputation system on its own settings page in the NexusCP:

Posted ImageFEATURES:
  • Rename your buttons whatever you like: Thanks, Points, Agree, Vote Up, Cheer, etc
  • Choose your own post button icons to replace the default ones provided in the posting area.
  • Choose your own marker icon to mark the stats leaderboard display.
  • Choose a name for your system on the leader board and in the profile stats.
  • Toggle the leaderboard display off if you do not wish to display the Top Ten list.
  • Toggle the dislike button off if desired.
  • Use the button class designation to customize your button for different themes.
  • Use CSS class commands to further customize your code (listed below)

Keeper of the knowledge . . . all of it!

Remove Dislike button
Toggle the option in your NexusCP

The like/dislike links in the Topic view have their own "class" so you can easily modify them.
The Like button has a class of .like and the Dislike button has a class of .dislike

Remove button text only, such as for a mobile theme
Install in AdminCP > Theme > (choose theme) > Theme Appearance
Code: add to CSS

.like, .dislike { font-size:0; }

Remove NexLike marker or button images
Instead of installing a different marker or icon, you can replace the image URL in the NexusCP field with this transparent one:
http://b2.ifrm.com/269/184/0/p711872/NoIcon.png This effectively removes the icons.

Restyle or hide the Reputation totals text
Use the .likeprofile class to modify this field in the member's profile/miniprofile.
[also: dt.likeprofile, and dd.likeprofile]

Remove the profile totals field
Code: add to CSS

.likeprofile { display:none }

CUSTOMIZE POST STATISTICS

Hide the Like and/or Dislike voters list in the post:
This will leave the total likes in the post, but remove the names of the likers.
it will appear as only "Rating: (number)"
Code: add to CSS

.tvrating0, .tvrating1 {display:none}

Replace "Ratings" text with a button image: (insert your own hosted image URL in place of the one in the following code snippet)
(Adjust amount of padding to accommodate button image size)
Code:

div.ratetitletv {
background: url(http://z5.ifrm.com/30475/135/0/f5278114/Like.png)no-repeat;
color:transparent;
padding-bottom: 8px;
}

Add button image and change "Ratings" text to "Likes": (or whatever other word you wish)
(Adjust padding to suit your image size.)

Code:

div.ratetitletv {
visibility: hidden;
}
div.ratetitletv :after {
content:'Likes';
visibility: visible;
display: block;
position: relative;
background: url(http://z5.ifrm.com/30475/135/0/f5278114/Like.png)no-repeat;
padding: 0 0 3px 40px;
top: 2px;
}
